Membership in The Society for Thermal Medicine is open to anyone interested in the study of thermal medicine. STM memberships are sold on a calendar-year basis, from January 1 through December 31. Members can expect to receive invoices for membership dues from mid-October through December. Membership Dues paid after October 1 are applied to Memberships for the coming year.

Membership Categories
Active Member
- Persons with an interest in hyperthermia or who have made meritorious contributions to the field of hyperthermia in the laboratory and/or clinical setting; or those who have made other contributions considered the equivalent of such investigations.
Active International
- Persons with an interest in hyperthermia or who have made meritorious contributions to the field of hyperthermia in the laboratory and/or clinical setting; or those who have made other contributions considered the equivalent of such investigations. Must be a current member of either ASHO or ESHO.
Emeritus
- Must be 60 years of age or older, retired – working no more than 15 hours per week, and have been an Active member of STM for at least 10 years. Requires an initial submission of an application for Emeritus status. Please email stm@allenpress.com for more information.
Scholar-In-Training
- Persons who have an interest in Thermal Medicine but who do not meet the criteria for Active Membership. Scholar-in-Training Members might include students or young professionals within 5 years of graduation who have not yet established an independent foundation for research or clinical practice. Requires verification of student status by the Department Chair or Mentor.
